Ingredients

One whole young chicken, weighing approximately 2-3 pounds, is required.
1/2 cup glutinous rice (sweet rice)
6–8 small dried jujubes (Korean dates)
Six cloves of garlic
4–6 slices of fresh ginger
4-6 slices of fresh ginseng root (or 1-2 teaspoons of ginseng powder)
8 cups of water
To taste, add salt and pepper.
